Guarantees 100%

Behind the scenes of Spaljisten´s improvement projects replace each other at a rapid pace. A smart collaboration between departments leads to both quick results and many improvements at several levels.

Right now we focus on a special area, a very important inspection function. The inspection shall ensure that the drill-holes taken for hinges in our kitchen and wardrobe fronts are always correct. A while ago, we introduced a simpler sensor system in a machine that will detect that the drill-holes exist, this after a much-appreciated improvement initiative from an employee. The improvement work is high on the agenda and it is important that all parts of the company become involved.

- All production employees, from machine operators to truck drivers, belongs to different working groups that have improvement meetings on a regular basis, says Henrik Thorildsson group manager for production technology.

Now we are looking at developing the concept and the goals is that by December 2020 all drilling machines should have an automatic hole image inspection that alerts if an error is detected. Technically, a vision sensor with a built-in camera connected to a program is installed, which makes this control fully automated and alerts when errors are detected. This is therefore not to be confused with a classic vision system with several expensive advanced cameras integrated with a heavy database and automatic extraction. But the advantage is that you get direct identification in real time at a low cost.

It is quite uncommon for pieces not to be properly drilled it may occur when a drill goes off, in the case of incorrect machine function or handling error. With an automatic inspection errors will be detected right away.

The drill hole image inspection, which can be performed during movement, verifies that there is actually a hole and that it is the correct pattern and size. The consumer will not ever again have to suffer from problems during assembly. The drill hole inspection should actually do so that we can guarantee 100% correct!

Det var en av de anställda som kom med förbättringsinitiativet...

It was one of the employees who came up with the improvement initiative, which shows us that our way of working is a winning concept. Now the sensor system is introduced on a machine and new improvements has begun.

Det är borrhålen för gångjärnen i fronter som nu genomgår en inspektion automatiskt
